FUNCTIONS:-There are two wings in the department viz.,1) <strong>Employment</strong> Wing.2) <strong>Training</strong> Wing.Functions <strong>of</strong> <strong>Training</strong> Wing:-The <strong>Training</strong> Wing <strong>of</strong> the department is implementing the following threevocational training schemes:-i) Craftsman <strong>Training</strong> Scheme.ii) Apprenticeship <strong>Training</strong> Scheme.iii) Special <strong>Training</strong> Scheme.The aims <strong>of</strong> these schemes are:-i) Providing skilled manpower regularly <strong>to</strong> the industries for various jobs.ii) Imparting quality training <strong>to</strong> the employees <strong>of</strong> the industries <strong>and</strong> therebyincreasing the quality <strong>and</strong> capacity <strong>of</strong> them.iii) Equipping the educated unemployed <strong>to</strong> get jobs in various industries bygiving training <strong>and</strong> thereby reducing the level <strong>of</strong> unemployment amongthem.iv) Providing in-plant training for various vocations under the ApprenticeshipAct 1961 <strong>and</strong> Rules, 1962.v) Giving short term training <strong>to</strong> the youths <strong>and</strong> thereby equipping them <strong>to</strong>become self employed.<strong>Employment</strong> Wing:-i) Implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Employment</strong> Exchanges (Compulsory Notification <strong>of</strong>Vacancies) Act,1959.ii) Applicants registration, employment assistance, supply <strong>of</strong> manpower <strong>to</strong>the employers against their dem<strong>and</strong>s.iii) <strong>Employment</strong> Market Information programme.iv) Vocational Guidance.v) Imparting pre-examination training for various competitive <strong>and</strong> entranceexaminations through Study Circle.vi) Bridging the gap between the employers <strong>and</strong> the applicants without theassistance <strong>of</strong> any intermediary agency by creating <strong>Employment</strong> Parks.
