ASSOCIATE IN SCIENCE<br />
DEGREE PROGRAM<br />
The <strong>associate</strong> of science <strong>degree</strong> is a specialized <strong>degree</strong><br />
<strong>in</strong>tended for transfer <strong>in</strong>to a pre-professional <strong>program</strong>. This<br />
<strong>degree</strong> is substantively different from both the <strong>associate</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />
applied science and the <strong>associate</strong> <strong>in</strong> <strong>arts</strong> <strong>degree</strong>s. The <strong>associate</strong> <strong>in</strong><br />
science provides an alternative to the <strong>associate</strong> of <strong>arts</strong> <strong>degree</strong><br />
for those fields that require so much specialized work that the<br />
student cannot complete as much general education as the AA<br />
<strong>degree</strong> demands.<br />
