It Is rumored that other sites wlthln the viclnlty of the project area contaln human remains, therefore it is a posslblllty that human remalns may be present in the other <strong>Site</strong>s located within your project. 2) There is a high possibility of identlfying additional Native American and historic cultural resources In the project area and further archival and Reld study by an archaeologist familiar with the prehistory and history of Sonoma County is recommended -- especially for the unsurveyed portions of the project area. 3) Revlew for possible historic structures has included only those sources listed in the attached bibliography and should not be considered comprehensive with respect to archltecture. The Office of Historlc Preservation has determined that bulldings and structures 45 years or older may be of historic value. If the project area contains such pro erties, they should be evaluated, prior to commencement of project ac ~vities. P 4) If cultural resources are encountered durina the arolnq& avoid altering the materials and thelr context until a cultural resource consultant has evaluated the situation. Project personnel should not collect cultural resources. Prehistoric resources include chert or obsidian flakes, projectile points, mortars, and pestles; and dark friable soil contalnlng shell and bone dletary debrls, heat-affected rock, or human burlals, Historic resources include stone or adobe foundatfans ar walls; structures and remuins with square nails; and refuse deposits, often in old wells and privies. 5) Identified cultural resources should be recorded on forms DPR 523 for archaeological sites and/or historlc properties or similar forms.
