(nw Majar ~emrrl) A. J. Barley, June 1, 1917, at FaFt Blbs, Ter~cas. It me formed
from the FUth Field Artillery, The Regiment wae ardered to Fort Sill, Oklahoma
as rchool troops for the Field Artillery School, when it wae ~emi~ig on July 1, 1940.
On July 1, 1940 purauant to lrbtter AG 6-22-4@, file AG 320.2 (6-184) M (Rst)
w, and paragraph 9 SO No. 129 Hq FAS Fort Sill, Oklahoma dated July 9, 1940, the
battalion was re-deelgnated third Battalion, Seventy Sixth Field Artillery Regiment, .
(75rm Gun, Earee Dram).
On July 10, 1940, pursuant to Special Orders No. 129, Field Artillery School,
Fort Sill, Oklahoma dated July 9, 1940, the Rattalion departed Fort S*, OUahoaa
for Camp clayton (now Fort W) California on a pe&mnt change of rhtion. Ar-
riving at Camp Clayton, Calif arnla on July 14, 1940, it joined tbe Sewntr Skfh
