Questions <strong>and</strong> Answers1) How many Governing Body DevelopmentSessions am I entitled to?Please see ‘what you get for your money’ onpage 7 .2) How many governing bodies canattend your GBD sessions?These Governing Body Development Sessionsare designed to be attended by one governingbody only; however, some schools haveexpressed an interest in collaborating witho<strong>the</strong>rs. Therefore, if you would be interestedin doing this please contact us to discussyour requirements prior to booking. If youinvite governors from a school who ‘pay-asyou-go’an additional charge per delegate willbe made to <strong>the</strong>ir school.3) How do I book a Governing BodyDevelopment Session?If you would like to arrange a Governing BodyDevelopment Session please provide us withthree dates <strong>and</strong> a starting time that suit yourgoverning body <strong>and</strong> school <strong>and</strong> we will do ourbest to match your requirements with one ofour governor tutors or specialist team. Pleaseemail schools-ld@essex.gov.uk <strong>and</strong> allowat least 20 working days prior to your firstdesired session date.4) When do I need to book my GoverningBody Development Session?All ‘subscription inclusive’ sessions mustbe booked by 31 October 2013 but can betaken up to 31 March 2014. You cannot carryover any GBDS’ from one subscription year toano<strong>the</strong>r. If <strong>the</strong> school would like to arrangean additional session, or does not subscribe,you can buy in a session through <strong>the</strong> ‘pay-asyou-go’option.5) How will I know if <strong>the</strong> Governing BodyDevelopment Session has been confirmed?Once a session is booked, a contractagreement form will be sent to <strong>the</strong> organiserwhich must be completed in full <strong>and</strong> returnedby <strong>the</strong> deadline given. If <strong>the</strong> deadline haspassed, <strong>the</strong> date will be released to allowo<strong>the</strong>r schools to book.6) What happens if I have to cancel/postponea session?Please email us at schools-ld@essex.gov.ukif you need to cancel. We require notificationof cancellation/postponement at least 10working days in advance of your session.Failure to do so will be subject to a £75cancellation fee.7) Do you offer core <strong>training</strong> as GoverningBody Development Sessions?The sessions listed in this section haveproved popular in <strong>the</strong> past <strong>and</strong> give you aninsight into what we can offer. However, wemay be able to offer any of <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r twohour <strong>training</strong> courses that are detailed withinthis <strong>training</strong> brochure. Additional fees willapply for courses delivered by a specialistteam.
