The fund provides immediate support designedto guarantee long-term benefits for our natural lands, and the people,plants and animals that inhabit them.Chad Corbin Memorial ScholarshipThis fund was set up by Jamie Corbin and Jay Dunham in memory ofChad, Jamie’s 31-year-old son who valued education as a means to betterhimself. Their vision for the fund is to help young adults who want tobetter themselves by going to a college or trade school.Michael Cowett FundThis fund was established to support general charitable purposes.Creative Catalyst FundThe San Diego Foundation will help advance the careers of artists byproviding opportunities to develop new work in collaboration withsponsoring nonprofit arts and culture organizations. Artists at all stagesof their careers – emerging, mid-career and established – will receivegrants that afford gifts of time, space and mentorship as they deepentheir practice, experiment with new art forms, or work across disciplinesto enhance the spirit of creativity throughout our region.Creativity in the ClassroomThe Creativity in the Classroom Fund was developed by The Foundation’sArts & Culture Working Group and will provide support throughoutour region to ensure that every day, every child, in every school hasaccess to learning in and through the arts. Grants will be made forprogram assessment, research, collaboration, and advocacy with a goalof elevating overall student achievement and providing the greatestopportunities for success.Cushman Foundation ScholarshipThe Cushman family has been a part of the San Diego community forgenerations. It is their love of San Diego and belief in the transformativepower of education that first interested them in establishing a scholarshipfund. The Cushman family believes that financial hardships should notprevent students from achieving their education dreams. Communityservice is a passion of the family’s and they look for scholarship applicantswith a strong commitment to serving the community.The Bob and Ann DynesCharitable FundThis fund was created to support the Dynes’ philanthropic involvementwith the San Diego community and beyond. Bob is currently amember of The San Diego Foundation’s Board of Governors. Hisdistinguished career includes serving as a research physicist at AT&TBell Laboratories, Chancellor of University of California, San Diego(UCSD), and President of the ten-campus the University of California(UC) system.
