In 2007, Constance received <strong>the</strong> National Association of Community CollegeTrustees’ CEO Award.Ted Chan, MDMedical Direc<strong>to</strong>r, Emergency Department,UCSD-Hillcrest Medical Center & Thorn<strong>to</strong>nHospital, La JollaTed joined The Foundation board after spearheading <strong>the</strong>2003 wildfire recovery efforts as chair of <strong>the</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong>Regional D<strong>is</strong>aster Fund. He <strong>is</strong> currently medical direc<strong>to</strong>rof <strong>the</strong> Emergency Departments at both UCSD HillcrestMedical Center and <strong>the</strong> Thorn<strong>to</strong>n Hospital in La Jolla.Ted worked in Washing<strong>to</strong>n, DC in <strong>the</strong> Office of <strong>the</strong> Ass<strong>is</strong>tant Surgeon General, and inSacramen<strong>to</strong> at <strong>the</strong> California State Senate. She <strong>is</strong> president of Chandler Asset Management.Prior <strong>to</strong> that, Kay enjoyed a career in public service asinvestment officer for <strong>the</strong> County of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> and for<strong>the</strong> City of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong>. Her community interests includecultural development; she served as a board member for a nonprofit <strong>the</strong>atre group andcurrently serves as a board member for a small community foundation. Kay earned aBA from Oberlin College and <strong>is</strong> a CFA charterholder.Richard A. Colla<strong>to</strong>Community LeaderRichard <strong>is</strong> president emeritus and <strong>the</strong> former presidentand chief executive officer of <strong>the</strong> YMCA of <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong>County. He was also a member of <strong>the</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong>Down<strong>to</strong>wn Rotary Club and past president of <strong>the</strong> <strong>San</strong>Pedro Rotary Club. Richard was named “Direc<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>the</strong>Year 2002” by <strong>the</strong> Corporate Direc<strong>to</strong>rs Forum and wasnamed <strong>the</strong> <strong>San</strong> <strong>Diego</strong> Business Journal’s 2007 CEO of <strong>the</strong>Year for Lifetime Achievement.
