WorldEnglishDon’t miss this Qualifying EventWith preparations for the Worlds well underway, it is also time tolet you all know that TVDA will be hosting the sole team selectionqualifying event for the World English Sporting Championships sodon’t miss out on this chance to shoot this excellent event. This qualifying event will form part of the TVDA 2 Day Classicand will be hosted the same weekend that TVDA holds its AnnualThames Valley District 100 Sporting Clay Championships – thisyear, it will be held over Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th November2010 at the TVDA Range, 101 Morrison Road, Paeroa.Saturday’s 100 target Qualifying Event for the World EnglishSporting Championships will be an excellent opportunity to shooton the kind of terrain that targets will be presented over during theWorld Championships, only three months further down the track. There will be no targets or stand placements that will replicatewhat will be on offer at the Worlds. NZCTA has deemed that thisqualifying event will be the only chance for people to secure aplace in the various teams that New Zealand will be entering intothe Worlds so this is a ‘must attend’ for people wanting to seekselection.Sunday’s event will be TVDA’s Annual Anniversary Cup eventwhich will be FITASC Sporting as normally shot at TVDA. Alsocompeted for at this event is the Holten Collegiate Trophy forall shooters who are currently still at school. As in the past, thisevent is also a Selection Criteria Event for shooters who areworking towards selection for the North and South Island Teamsto compete at the upcoming Nationals and selection for the NewZealand Team to participate at the Oceanias in New Caledoniaaround Easter next year.Everyone is most welcome to attend either or both of theseevents and even if you are not seeking a place in the teams, itwill be a wonderful opportunity to shoot top quality targets andparticularly on an English Sporting Layout with all targets beingpresented as ‘pair combinations’. If you are new to sporting claysshooting, then don’t be shy, just let us know in the office and weensure you are helped out through the day.Pre entries are not required for these two November events sorock up on the day and we certainly hope you will be able to joinus for this Classic Weekend. A discount will be on offer for thoseshooters attending both days and while there will be very worthydrawn prizes on both days, the overall major drawn prize of ashotgun will be available to those shooters who have competedover both days.On the World Championships front, entries are now availableon line and pre-entry into this event is essential. NO entries willbe taken at the event so it is imperative that all entries be lodgedonline or if you need to enter without doing it online, pleasecontact Maureen Coleman on 07 884 9622 evenings or 027 3337786. There is also a 75 target Pre-World Prize shoot being shotat the TVDA Grounds on Thursday 3 February, the day prior toSportingchampsIMPORTANTCHANGES TO SPORTING& COMPAC EVENTSDon’t expect to shoot major sporting and compak eventsif you haven’t pre-nominated. The NZCTA Council hasintroduced a ruling that clubs hosting Compak and SportingIsland, National, Oceania Championships and Grand Prixevents change the entry process to pre-nominations.There will be a cut-off 2 weeks prior to the event for prenominations. You will not necessarily have to pay the entryfees until you arrive at the club on the day, although earlypayment by using the Pay-Pal service on the NZCTA websiteis available. If you enter after the 2 week cut-off, or turn up on theday without pre-nominating there will be a financial penaltyadded to the entry fee, AND you must be present by 8.30amon the day. If you arrive after this time, you will not be ableto compete.Events that have limited numbers will not be able to acceptlate entries if the fields are full through pre-nominations -NO EXCEPTIONS.This has been done to streamline the pre-entry processand to help with pre-squading and ensures the competitionstarts as early in the day as possible. This should ensure theshoot is completed in reasonable time. Pre-squading alsoallows a senior shooter, World or NZCTA National referee tobe included in each squad to ensure fair-play. This system is inuse in every major Sporting and Compac event worldwide.the official practice day of the Worlds for anyone at all wishing toparticipate. Our major sponsors to come on board are Laporte, Stager Sport/Blaser, Downer New Zealand, Richardson’s Real Estate, Clean BurnEnergy Systems, Lion Foundation, Southern Trust, Pub Charity,Hauraki District Council, Tourism Coromandel, Farmlands.
