An Olympian with 10 CommonwealthGames medals, Yelavich (53) has been selected as part of atwelve-strong shooting team which also includes Olympianand Commonwealth gold medallist Nadine Stanton (claytarget) and Australian ISSF <strong>2010</strong> Trap Champion Miles Browne-Cole (clay target).Gavin Paton, shooting team coach, is pleased with the makeup of the team which includes youth and experience.“Overall it’s a strong team, especially in the Pairs where anexperienced athlete will be matched with a younger one.”Natalie Rooney (22) will be matched with Stanton (34) inthe women’s <strong>Clay</strong> <strong>Target</strong> while Myles Browne-Cole (22) will bepaired with Allan Sinclair (39).Rooney is looking forward to being a member of theCommonwealth Games team. “I’m a bit stoked really,” saidthe Canterbury University student. “I would like to make themedal selection in both individual and pairs.With her team mates Rooney will head to Munich in <strong>July</strong> forthe World Championships before returning to <strong>New</strong> <strong>Zealand</strong>and Australia for on-going preparations before the teamdeparts for Delhi, India in October.The Commonwealth Games squad is expected to number195 athletes and 100 support staff.The final selections will be made in early <strong>August</strong>.
