NZCTA Council mAt the recent NZCTA Council meetingthe following was adopted;Range ManualThe Range Manual distributed to all clubsprior to Christmas has been withdrawn. Thisis to enable Council to correct some knownerrors in the manual. A revised manual willbe issued to clubs as soon as possible. Clubsshould not expect any significant changesin the revised manual and should proceedto use the manual previously sent to lookat their own situation. If any clubs feel theyhave any valid points that may be helpfulin the re-draft please contact either TrevorManson, Neil Winsloe or Gavin Searle.School CompetitionHigh Gun: The Beretta High Guns forthe Secondary School Championships willnot be awarded to any competitor that haspreviously won a gun for this event. It shallbe awarded to the next highest qualifyingcompetitor.Sporting <strong>Clay</strong>s:All Compak and Sporting Island,National, Oceania and Grand Prix eventswill become pre-nomination events with acut off for entries 2 weeks prior. There shallbe a financial penalty for entries on the day.Competitors who have not pre-enteredmust enter in person on the day prior to8.00 – 8.30am on the day of competition.Where there is a field with limited numbers,entries on the day will not be accepted if thefield is full. Competitors will not necessarilyhave to pay the entry fees until they arriveat the club on the day.This has been done to streamlinethe pre-entry process, to help with presquadingand ensures the competitionstarts as early in the day as possible. Thisshould ensure the shoot is completed inreasonable time. Pre-squading also allowsa World or NZCTA National referee to beincluded in each squad to ensure fair-play.The 2011 North Island Sporting shall be75 targets and the 2011 NZ Sporting shallbe 150 targets. This is for the 2011 yearonly in anticipation of additional numbersof competitors expected as this event isimmediately prior to the World EnglishSporting Championships at TVDA thefollowing week.The team selection for the World EnglishSporting Championships, being held atTVDA in February next year will take placeover one event being held at TVDA on 13thNovember. For specific details see advert in<strong>July</strong> Gunshot.Clubs are reminded that ALL Compakand sporting clay shoots attract the $2 dailyand $1 sporting clay levy. This includesDuck shoots.ISSF:There is no requirement for practiceat ISSF events prior to competitions Thispractice is outside what happens withother disciplines and puts a huge strain onthe host club’s resources.<strong>New</strong> format forProvincials;Further to the remits passed at theAGM, the format for the DTL Provincialswill change. This will be for a trial periodcommencing 1 <strong>August</strong> <strong>2010</strong> until the endof December. After this Council will assessthe trial. The new (trial) format will be:Day 1; Double Rise, Minis and Skeet inany order, then Single RiseDay 2; Triples, Points Score then SingleBarrelThe intent is that if a club has shootinglights, then the Single Rise shoot off couldbe completed on day 1, otherwise it willbe completed on day 2. Councillors willbe available to assist clubs on how best tomanage shoot offs during the trial period.Island Scores included inNorth/South qualifyingFollowing the remits at the AGM,Council has deemed that the Island scoreswill be included as North/South DTL andSkeet qualifying. In the DTL and SouthIsland skeet events the score will formthe first qualifying for the next period TheNorth Island Skeet shall be included in thecurrent qualifying period.Postal Teams eventnominationsIn future, all NZCTA Postal Teams mustbe advised to the National Office as perthe current rules but clubs do not need tonotify individual team members. The entryfee must be paid with the team nominationand team members must be identified onthe score sheets when they are submittedafter the event has been shot.Category onlyintroducedFrom 1 <strong>August</strong> <strong>2010</strong> a Ladies, Junior andVeteran only category shall be available atall DTL, Sporting and ISSF Provincials andZone championships. These competitorsare able to pay an entry fee of $5.00 ($4.00to host club, $1 to NZCTA) plus targetsper event. They shall be entitled to winthe category only which they nominatefor, not any grade prize. They shall not beable to participate in any sweeps, eithercompulsory or optional. The categoryonly shooters are able to nominate for anyNorth/South team qualification or otherteams selection that may be appropriateto the event.Increase in RegistrationFeesIt has been many years since the NZCTARegistration fees increased and withincreased costs, including the increase inGST the Registration Fees for the 2011 yearwill be:Full RegistrationFamily RegistrationSocial RegistrationJunior Registration$80.00 per person$50.00 per person$30.00 per person$35.00 per person(no change on current fee)Rule BookThere were small changes to theformatting and wording of the Rule Book.This is available on-line. It is envisaged thatonce the tidying up of the Rule Book iscompleted later in the year a printed rulebook will be available to all shooters andclubs when they register next year.National Secretary to goThe title National Secretary is to bereplaced with Executive Officer. This is tobring the position title more in line withcurrent practices.DTL NationalsThe date for the DTL Nationals hasbeen formalized. It shall be in the first fullweek of March. This means that the eventwill commence on the first Saturday inMarch. This gives some certainty aroundthe clubs that host the event and staff andcompetitors can re-plan for annual leaveand travel arrangements.8gunshot
