Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas2012 Amended and 2013 Operating BudgetDivision OverviewDivision Overview:Emergency Medical ServicesThe Fire Department is responsible for providing emergency medical services (EMS) to thecommunities of Kansas City, Kansas and Edwardsville, Kansas. The department’s delivery ofemergency medical services includes advanced life support (ALS), basic life support (BLS), andambulance transport. The Fire Department’s first responder units arrive on the scene of medicalemergencies in less than four minutes on average.
