About PGBCFounded in 2002, the Professional Green Building Council (PGBC) is a non-profit makingresearch and education institution to promote a better sustainable built environment throughprofessional involvement.Our Objectives• To conduct collaborative research and publish research results on local and globaldevelopments of green buildings;• To organise researches seminars and training courses in green building design andtechnology; and• To advise the government on the formulation, setting up and monitoring of a local greenbuilding labeling scheme.1Our FormationPGBC was co-founded by five building related professional institutions:• The Hong Kong Institute of Architects• The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers• The Hong Kong Institute of Landscape Architects• The Hong Kong Institute of Planners (joined in 2005)• The Hong Kong Institute of SurveyorsOur Members• Include the Founding Members (HKIA, HKIE, HKILA, HKIP, HKIS), or any professional instituteand organisation which is willing to abide by the Memorandum and Articles of Associationof the PGBC, the resolutions passed by the Members or the Board of Directors and anyrules and regulations applicable to them.Sponsoring Members• Any person or any institute and organisation which support the objects in theMemorandum and Articles of Association of the PGBC, the resolutions passed by theMembers or the Board of Directors and any rules and regulations applicable, and is willingto provide support in financial terms or in kinds for the furtherance of the objects ofthe PGBC.03
