152Sparkling <strong>Green</strong>Hong Kong and BeyondHKIA <strong>Green</strong> TourHKIA <strong>Green</strong> Tour was first launched in 2000. <strong>The</strong> first part ofHKIA <strong>Green</strong> Tour is to have a first-hand visit experience to somestate-of-the-art green buildings which were well-performed insocial, economical and environment integration, and the secondpart is to participate in <strong>Green</strong> <strong>Building</strong> Challenge [GBC] and toattend World Sustainable <strong>Building</strong> Conference. A holistic approachis cultivated to establish an international network on greenarchitecture movement and to interface with <strong>Green</strong> <strong>Building</strong>Challenge. With this interlinked planning, <strong>Green</strong> Tour is organisedat specific years attended by our delegated teams:<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2000 Germany / <strong>The</strong> Netherlands<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2002 Nordic – Norway / Finland / Sweden / Denmark<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2004 Brazil / Peru<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2005 Japan<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2007 China [Beijing]<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2008 Australia<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2010 China [Shanghai / Suzhou]<strong>Green</strong> Tour 2011 FinlandGBC BackgroundIn 1994, the first international green building conference was heldby CIB in the UK. This was followed by an even larger event in Parisin 1997.
