BEM Course on Safety & Health At Work
The above BEM Mandatory Course was held at IEM Penang Secretariat and attended by 29
IEM members. The speaker was Cdr (Rtd) Ir. Raymond Swa.
eETD 3 rd AGM
eETD 3 rd AGM 2011 was held at IEM Penang Secretariat. A total of 21 members attended.
Technical Dialogue with JPS
IEM Penang Secretariat held a Technical Dialogue with government body, JPS, for the
benefit of its members to exchange and update on matters relating to the department. A total
of 35 members attended.
Dialogue with President
Dialogue with President to exchange views relating to the branch. 5 committee members
attended.
Technical Visit to MDC Precast Industries Sdn Bhd
21 members visited MDC Precast Industries Sdn Bhd in Sungai Petani. After a successful
tour of the plant, the members were treated to lunch by the management.
Technical Visit to Taiwan
The 6 days 5 nights technical visit to Taiwan was attended by 20 IEM members. It was
successfully organized with IEET.
Course on Design of Sprinkler System
A total of 33 participants attended the course held at IEM Pg Secretariat. The speaker was Ir.
Gary Lim.
Technical Dialogue with JKR
IEM Penang Branch held a Technical Dialogue with another government body, JKR, for the
benefit of its members to exchange and update on matters relating to the department. A total
of 41 members attended.
Technical Dialogue with CIDB
A Technical Dialogue was paid to CIDB and was attended by 32 members to discuss and
update on matters related to their area.
Technical Visit to Asia Composites Manufacturing Sdn Bhd
11 members headed by Ir. Lim Kok Khong, made a visit to Asia Composites Manufacturing
Sdn Bhd situated in the Bukit Kayu Hitam Industrial Estate.
Seminar on Welded Mesh-Cut Bent & Reinforcing Steel
The above seminar was jointly organised by Southern Steel Mesh Sdn Bhd and IEM Penang
Branch. The speaker is IR. Yap Kong Lim.
Course on Cooling Capacity Calculation & Psychometrics
2-day course jointly organized with IEM Training Centre Sdn Bhd at Cititel, Penang. The
speaker was Ir. Chua Keng Seng.
Seminar on Geotechnical Engineering 2011
2-day seminar jointly organized with Geotechnical Engineering Technical Division, The
Institution of Engineers, Malayisa and IEM Penang Branch. The panel of speakers are Ir. Dr.
Ooi Lean Hock, Ir. Yee Thien Seng, Ir. Tan Yean Chin, Ir. Oh Chin Wah, Ir. Yee Yew
