Structural Design And Buildings Competition<br />
USM School <strong>of</strong> Civil Engineering and IEM (SS) USM in conjunction with<br />
the cooperation <strong>of</strong> third year and fourth year Civil Engineering<br />
undergraduates successfully organized Structural Design and Buildings<br />
Competition on 22.09.2010 at main hall <strong>of</strong> USM Engineering Campus.<br />
Industrial Visit To Swing Bridge, Prai<br />
<strong>The</strong> technical visit to Gamuda for Civil Engineering was attended by 37<br />
students.<br />
Mechanical School Career Talk, Design and Manufacture Your Future<br />
<strong>The</strong> mechanical school career talk was attended by 30 participants which<br />
was held at DK 5. <strong>The</strong> speaker was Pr<strong>of</strong> Mani Maran from Mechanical<br />
School, Ir. Choon from IEM, and Simon Tan from Toastmaster.<br />
IEM Electronic Engineering Technical Division (eETD) Talk<br />
eETD Talk was attended by about 124 students. Guest <strong>of</strong> honour, Ir. Paul<br />
Phor Chi Wei delivered a speech to student members <strong>of</strong> the IEM-USM<br />
Student Section.<br />
Talk on Sustainability and Competency for Civil Engineer<br />
44 participants attended this talk which was held at DK7. It was presented by<br />
speaker Ir. Ng Sin Chie, Hon. Chairman <strong>of</strong> IEM <strong>Penang</strong> <strong>Branch</strong>, Ir. Paul<br />
Phor Chi Wei, Hon. Secretary <strong>of</strong> IEM <strong>Penang</strong> <strong>Branch</strong> and Manager <strong>of</strong> THE<br />
CAD SPECIALIST AND AUTODESK training center who gave a talk<br />
about the engineering s<strong>of</strong>tware, AutoCAD.<br />
Industrial Visit to <strong>Penang</strong> Port<br />
This visit was for 2 nd year electrical students. IEM (SS) USM received<br />
sponsorship along with moral support from School <strong>of</strong> Electrical and<br />
Electronic Engineering. 26 students participated in the visit to <strong>Penang</strong> Port.<br />
Talk On Financial Investment And Personal Financing For Fresh<br />
Graduate<br />
139 participants and 17 committee members attended the talk. <strong>The</strong> speaker<br />
was Mr Ezwan Hamdi from Securities Industry Development Corporation<br />
(SIDC).<br />
Industrial Visit to Micro Modular System<br />
<strong>The</strong> visit was for 2 nd year Mechatronic students. 25 students had joined the<br />
