Up to date summary pageThe <strong>ERTMS</strong>/<strong>GSM</strong>-R project is a permanent project set up to ensure progress on <strong>GSM</strong>-R standardisationand implementation to allow interoperability in the railway environment. The project has a strong link toETSI as the standardisation organisation for <strong>GSM</strong> and follow-up technologies in the field oftelecommunications. The project has a link with the <strong>GSM</strong>-R Industry Group, which consists of the currentsuppliers of networks and fixed and mobile terminals. <strong>GSM</strong>-R is part of the <strong>ERTMS</strong> platform at UIC.The project also works closely with UNISIG, EEIG and ERA on the creation of the TSI for High Speed andConventional Rail and liaises with JPC Rail over co-ordination of the updating of European Standardshaving an impact on <strong>GSM</strong>-R.
