As Regional Head, Dresdner Bank Luxembourg is responsible for the development of Dresdner Bank’s Private Wealth Management in the Benelux region. Back in 1999, the bank had already acquired the Dutch asset manager, Veer Palthe Voûte N.V. (VPV). After receiving its banking licence in July 2000, the VPV business could undergo continuous expansion. In addition to its headquarters in Gouda, the subsidiary, which has now been renamed as Dresdner Bank VPV N.V., has further branches in Amsterdam, Arnhem and Den Bosch. In September 2008, the presence of Dresdner VPV N.V. was expanded with the purchase of two asset managers in the Netherlands. It acquired all of the shares in the companies, Franke & Partners Pensioenadvies en Vermogensbeheer B.V. in Maastricht (Franke & Partners) and De Vries & Co. B.V., Blaricum. Both companies specialise in looking after wealthy private customers. They are an ideal complement to the existing Dresdner VPV locations. Together with their employees, they manage customer assets amounting to approximately € 250 million today. The asset manager Franke & Partners is a relatively small company. Each of the partners has an average of 30 years of experience in asset management. The investment style is best described as independent, international, individual and consistent, based on extensive experience in the international world of finance. The company is well-networked abroad and uses the know-how of its international co-operation partners. This allows advice to be given to investors in the Netherlands as well as those abroad. The focus is on the achievement of stable returns with acceptable levels of risk. With its membership of the Agricultural Futures Exchange, these activities were expanded in 1958. By trading in and providing advisory services in shares and options, the company has extended its range of services since 1995. As of 1 October 2003, the Dutch financial regulator granted De Vries & Co. an asset management licence. Since then, De Vries & Co. B.V. has offered investment advisory and asset management services. The company is subject to the control of the Dutch Securities Institute, the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (Autoriteit Financiële Markten) and the Dutch Central Bank (De Nederlandse Bank).
