Takeover of the Frankfurt-based Bankhaus J. Dreyfus & Co. with its
Berlin branch and continued operation as branches. Therefore, the
bank dispenses with the suffix “in Hamburg” from 1898.

Commerz- und Privat-Bank and Mitteldeutsche Creditbank,
Frankfurt am Main, merge.
1920
After the merger with the Mitteldeutsche Privatbank in Magdeburg,
Commerz- und Disconto-Bank changes its name to Commerz- und
Privat-Bank. The number of branches rises to 284, located mainly in
Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia.
1931/32
Commerz- und Privat-Bank has to merge with Barmer Bank-Verein;
the Empire is participated with 70 % in the new institution.
1933
As a result of Nazi pressure, all Jewish supervisory board members,
management board members and employees must leave the bank by no later than 1938.

found “Commerz- und Disconto-Bank in Hamburg”.
The company limited by shares opens for business on 25 April.

Takeover of Berliner Bank.
