entities of the AGDL member institutions and companies incorporated under Luxembourg law or the law
of another EU Member State that are entitled, on account of their size, to prepare an abbreviated balance
sheet. These deposits are insured individually in each case to the sum of € 20,000. In the case of a claim,
the annual contribution of each AGDL member is limited to 5% of their equity capital. During the reporting
year, the bank fulfilled a claim to pay an advance of €629,000 in relation to the financial distress of
subsidiaries of Icelandic banks at the Luxembourg location. This payment took place from existing reserves
in favour of the deposit guarantee fund.
In accordance with the Law of 27 July 2000 that incorporated EU Directive 97/9 on investor-compensation
schemes into the national Law of 5 April 1993 on the financial sector, another objective of AGDL
since 1 January 2001 has been to ensure investor protection. The purpose of this compensation scheme
is to protect all investment transactions of natural and certain legal entities up to an equivalent amount
of € 20,000 in the case of a default by the bank that has been officially confirmed by court or administrative
authority, irrespective of the number of accounts, the currency or the location within an EU member
state.
In accordance with fiscal regulations, the bank has set up a provision for future claims.
Administrative and representative services
The bank offers the following administrative and representative services to third parties:

� Safekeeping and administration of securities
� Rental of safe-deposit boxes
� Trustee services
� Agency services
� Underwriting business
� Fund administration
� Custodian bank services
For two companies belonging to the Allianz Group (Dresdner Bank AG’s Luxembourg branch and Allianz
Global Investors Luxembourg S.A.) the bank provided employees and took over certain administration
tasks, including IT functions, during 2008. Service agreements have been concluded with entities belonging
to the Dresdner Bank Group.
Distribution of income by geographical markets
The bank’s organisational structure is not based on a geographical breakdown or country specific markets.
Revenues for 2008 predominantly originated from activities with credit institutions and customers from
OECD countries.
