At the initiative of Eugen Gutmann, Dresdner Bank is founded in Dresden on 12 November.
For this purpose, the Michael Kaskel private bank is converted into an Aktiengesellschaft
(company limited by shares). It is opened for business on 1 December.

1931/32
The global economic crisis leads to a serious banking crisis.
Darmstädter und Nationalbank (Danatbank) collapses.
The German Empire supports Dresdner Bank with 300 million
Reichsmark and thus holds 90% of its share capital.
In 1932, the imperial government commands the merger of
Dresdner Bank and Danatbank.

Dresdner Bank takes over Rheinisch-Westfälische Disconto-Gesellschaft.
Therewith the bank gains broad access to the Rheinish-Westphalian industrial
