S. mosellana larval infestation levels were also determined inadjacent wheat fields. In the more extensive 2004 trials (Fig. 13) there was a good correlation withpheromone trap catches and infestation levels with the exception of Great Knott which was sown with theresistant variety Robigus and thus had hardly any attacked grain in spite of midges having been caught inpheromone traps albeit at lower levels than at the other fields.60
