Please refer tomigration guide <strong>for</strong> upgrade from previous releases.1. Check the <strong>5.1.1</strong> <strong>Solidifier</strong> package into the ePO.2. Create a SC: Begin Update Mode (Solidcore <strong>5.1.1</strong>) client task to put <strong>Solidifier</strong> into update mode.3. Deploy the new build via the Product Deployment client task. Select Action as Install.4. Once the Product Deployment client task completes to enable the <strong>Solidifier</strong> create a SC: End Update Mode (Solidcore <strong>5.1.1</strong>)client task.5. Reboot the <strong>Solidifier</strong> host, by creating a SC: Run Commands (Solidcore <strong>5.1.1</strong>) client task and enter the command:ssreboot.NOTE:1. For upgrade in disable mode, steps 2, 4 and 5 above are not required.2. If you are using <strong>McAfee</strong> Agent 4.5 (earlier than patch 1), restart the cma service after installation, uninstallation, andupgradation. Additionally, <strong>for</strong> SuSE kernels, the solidifier service 'scsrvc' needs to be restarted.New featuresePO support <strong>for</strong> RHEL 3, SuSE Pro 9.3, and OpenSUSE 10 and 11Change Control, Application Control, and Integrity Control are now available on the following plat<strong>for</strong>ms:· RHEL 3 (32bit only)· SuSE Pro 9.3 (32bit only)· OpenSUSE 10/11 (32bit only)Ensure that you use <strong>McAfee</strong> Agent version 4.5 patch 2 with RHEL 3 and version 4.0 and later with SuSE Pro 9.3 and OpenSUSE 10/11.Kernel supportVarious new kernels are supported with the <strong>5.1.1</strong> release. Review the Plat<strong>for</strong>m Support Matrix <strong>for</strong> a list of all the supported kernels.Known issuesePO Specific issues(608671): Upgrade from ePO, when <strong>Solidifier</strong> is installed on non-default path, is not supported. Such upgrade may leave<strong>Solidifier</strong> in an inconsistent state. The recommended way in such a case is to uninstall the existing version and then install thenew version from ePO.(608737): Events may not be generated when partition containing /opt/<strong>McAfee</strong>/cma directory has insufficient space. Error "Failedto generate event xml" will be observed in solidcore.log.Workaround: Free up space in partition containing /opt/<strong>McAfee</strong>/cma directory.(649223): On the Red Hat Enterprise <strong>Linux</strong> ES <strong>Release</strong> 3 plat<strong>for</strong>m, no default filters are available in the Minimal SystemMonitoring <strong>for</strong> <strong>Linux</strong> variants (<strong>McAfee</strong> Default) policy in ePO.
