xxi.xxii.xxiii.xxiv.xxv.All <strong>the</strong> recommendations made in <strong>the</strong> Charter on Corporate Responsibility for EnvironmentProtection (CREP) for <strong>the</strong> Aluminium sector shall be strictly implemented.The company shall adopt well laid down corporate environment policy and identified anddesignate responsible <strong>of</strong>ficers at all levels <strong>of</strong> its hierarchy for ensuring adherence to <strong>the</strong> policyand compliance with environmental clearance, environmental laws and regulations.All <strong>the</strong> commitments made to <strong>the</strong> public during <strong>the</strong> Public Hearing / Public Consultation meetingheld on 2 nd March, 2012should be satisfactorily implemented and a separate budget forimplementing <strong>the</strong> same should be allocated and information submitted to <strong>the</strong> Ministry’s RegionalOffice at Bhubaneswar.At least 5 % <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> total cost <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project shall be earmarked towards <strong>the</strong> Enterprise SocialCommitment and item-wise details along with time bound action plan should be prepared andsubmitted to <strong>the</strong> Ministry’s Regional Office at Bhubaneswar. GaganFerrotech Limited -regarding Environmental ClearanceThe project authorities and <strong>the</strong>ir consultant, M/s Visiontek Consultants, Bhubaneswargave adetailed presentation on <strong>the</strong> salient features <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project and proposed environmental protectionmeasures to be undertaken as per Terms <strong>of</strong> Reference (TORs) awarded during <strong>the</strong> 13 th <strong>Meeting</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><strong>Expert</strong> <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> (Industry-1) held on 26 th – 28 th August, 2010 for preparation <strong>of</strong> EIA/EMP. All<strong>the</strong> steel plants are listed at S.No. 3(a) in primary metallurgical industry under Category ‘A’<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>Schedule <strong>of</strong> EIA notification 2006 and appraised by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Expert</strong> <strong>Appraisal</strong> <strong>Committee</strong> (Industry-1) <strong>of</strong>MoEF.M/s Gagan Ferrotech Limited have proposed for expansion <strong>of</strong> Steel Plant (0.1 MTPA to 0.4MTPA) and Captive Power Plant (12 MW to 24 MW) at Jhamuria Industrial Estate, Village-Ikrah, Dist-Burdwan, West Bengal. Total existing project area is 46.59 acres and expansion would be done within<strong>the</strong> existing premises. Green belt will be developed in 33% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> area i.e 15.5 acres. No R & R isinvolved. No wildlife sanctuary/national park is within 10 km radius <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> unit. Project site is located at14 Km from <strong>the</strong> severely polluted area <strong>of</strong> Asansol.Total cost <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> project is Rs. 104.33 Crores. Budget<strong>of</strong> Rs. 5.0 Crores and Rs. 1.0 Crores has been earmarked towards total capital cost and recurringcost/annum for environmental pollution control measures.The raw material requirement will be – Sponge Iron (2,26,700 TPA), Pig Iron (78,900 TPA) &Scrap (31,500 TPA) for billet production, Mn ore (58,600 TPA), Dolomite (10,400 TPA), Quartzite (9,600TPA), Coke (19,200 TPA) & electrode paste (800 TPA) for Fe-Mn/Si-Mn production and Coal (58,700TPA) for power generation.
