Excellent starter kit for routineapplications, research or teachingThe number of available FTIR accessories is quite overwhelming. It is easy to be confused by multiple, often esoteric choices attypically exuberant prices. Sometimes, it is not easy to decidewhich accessory will do the job. An answer to this problem isPIKE Technologies’ Valu-Line Accessory Kit. This Kit, packaged ina durable and convenient storage case, combines the most oftenused and practical set of FTIR sampling accessories. It includesthe following components:HATR – Horizontal ATRIs designed to analyze liquid and semi-liquid samples, pastes, gels, films, soft powders and multiple solid materials. This accessorycomes with trough and flat crystal plates to accommodate alltypes of samples. The HATR is carefully designed to provideexcellent results with minimum effort. It can be easily placedin the sample compartment and locked into position on thesample compartment baseplate, or a standard slide holder.EasiDiff – Diffuse Reflectance AccessoryIs an ideal accessory for the analysis of powders and intractablesolids. With a set of convenient tools for solid sample preparation, this compact, high performance accessory provides outstandingcollection efficiency.30Spec – Specular Reflectance AccessoryIs a great accessory for the analysis of thin organic films depositedon reflective surfaces and a myriad of surface coatings and surfacetreatments. The 30Spec is slide-mounted and comes with a set ofthree masks which allow for the isolation of small, pre-determinedspots on larger samples, and the analysis of small samples. Please refer to the appropriate section of this catalog for moredetail about these accessories.P A R T N U M B E RO R D E R I N G I N F O R M A T I O ND E S C R I P T I O N050-10XX Valu-Line – FTIR Reflectance Accessories KitIncludes:HATR – combined trough and flat plate system, including 45º ZnSe crystals; trough plate, volatiles cover, powder press, flat plate and sample clampEasiDiff – Accessory with sampling tools, two micro, twomacro sample cups, EasiPrep sample preparation kit, alignment mirror, pestle and mortar, KBr30Spec – Specular reflectance accessory with a set of threemasks for control of the sampling spot sizeNote: Select XX FTIR code from foldout on last page of this catalog. The other 20% (especially whendealing with poor absorbers, some powders and films) still needto be analyzed by other methods. For this reason, PIKE designedan accessory kit built around the MIRacle – Single Reflection ATR,and also included basic diffuse reflectance and specularreflectance accessories. This combination offers one of the mostcomplete range of sampling devices used in FTIR and covers awide variety of sampling needs. The Ultima Sampling Kit containsthe following accessories:MIRacle – Single Reflection ATRDesigned to analyze a wide variety of solid and liquid samples. Itoffers a number of unique features including: a universal samplingplate which accommodates liquids, solids and powders, small(1.8 mm) sampling interface making the analysis of small and/orawkward samples easy, and interchangeable sampling plates. Allthe above options allow for the best selection of an appropriatespectral range, and a configuration which matches the optical, physical and chemical properties of analyzed samples. Thepatented optical design of the accessory offers the highestoptical throughput and sensitivity. The MIRacle is equipped with apressure clamp and purge attachments.EasiDiff – Diffuse Reflectance AccessoryAn ideal product for the analysis of powders and intractablesolids. With a set of convenient tools for sample preparation, this compact, high performance accessory provides outstandingcollection efficiency.30Spec – Specular Reflectance AccessoryA great accessory for the analysis of thin organic films depositedon reflective surfaces and a myriad of surface coatings and surfacetreatments. The 30Spec is slide-mounted and comes with a set ofthree masks which allow for the isolation of small, predeterminedspots on larger samples, and the analysis of small samples. In recent years, single-reflection ATR measurements have becomequite popular for at least two main reasons – they further simplifysample preparation and also reduce the complexity of traditionalFTIR measurements. This is achieved through the reduction of thesampling area (smaller sample volume/size requirement), ease ofcleaning and the introduction of more rigid, diamond-protectedsampling interfaces, capable of withstanding higher pressures andharder samples. In many cases the single-reflection ATR hasbecome capable of analyzing a wide variety of samples – includingrigid solids and hard powders – which are difficult to achieve witha multi-reflection ATR. For these reasons, the single reflection ATRhas gained the reputation of being a universal sampling device. Please refer to the appropriate section of this catalog to reviewthe theory and detailed description of kit components.P A R T N U M B E RO R D E R I N G I N F O R M A T I O ND E S C R I P T I O N050-20XX Ultima Sampling Kit with:MIRacle – Single-reflection ATR with ZnSe Crystal, UniversalConfiguration for solid and liquid analysis, and HighPressure ClampEasiDiff Accessory with Sampling Tools, two each microand macro Sample Cups, EasiPrep Sample Preparation Kit,Alignment Mirror, Pestle and Mortar, and KBr30Spec – Specular Reflectance Accessory with a set of threemasks for control of the sampling spot sizeNotes: Select XX FTIR code from foldout on last page of this catalog.
