“Computational Civil Engineering 2005”, International SymposiumIaşi, România, May 27, 2005Finite element model for obtaining the structural responseconsidering soil-structure interactionSummaryŢepeş Onea FlorinUniversity Ovidius of Constanţa, Faculty of Construction, Constanţa, RomâniaThis paper aims to emphasize the influence of local conditions of the location onthe structural response by using advanced calculation methods able to reflect asprecisely as possible the structure’s reaction, emphasizing the evolution of thestages of solicitation during an earthquake.According to the norms of design we can use: a) methods of usual design; b)methods of design based upon considering the nonlinear deformation of thestructure.It will be take into consideration a structure type P+5, in frame, namely a hotel,build at the seaside.It is interested analyzing the results obtained by the method of design “a” andthose obtained by method “b” aiming to find out in what measure the use ofmethod “b” is necessary at structures which do not belong to the class ofimportance structures.The method “b” will be a nonlinear calculus taking into consideration the soilstructure interaction. The respective calculus will give results regarding the historyof the efforts in beams, spectral response.The results will offer useful information for a future design of same similarstructures in frame.KEYWORDS: usual design, nonlinear, deformation, soil, structure, interaction,beams, efforts1. STRUCTURAL ANALYSISThe calculation made for a plane elevation in the P+5 structure, using soil-structureinteraction program (FLUSH) have emphasized a structural response offering froma calculation made on the same structure using seismic forces that are staticequivalent.
