Successful start in Rotterdam<br />
In January 2010 the LEHNKERING Distribution Logistics & Services (DLS) Division<br />
started business operations at its new hazardous-goods store in Rotterdam.<br />
After the foam-extinguisher system had been success-<br />
fully tested in November 2009, LEHNKERING was able<br />
to start storing the goods. Within a very short time its<br />
ten new, and existing, customers were established at<br />
the site.<br />
In its high-shelf store in the port of Rotterdam LEHNKERING<br />
has some 12,000 palette-storage spaces, covering 6,000<br />
square metres, on which hazardous materials in ADR<br />
hazardous-goods categories 3, 6.1, 8 and 9 (flammab-<br />
le, poisonous, corrosive, environmentally dangerous) can<br />
be warehoused. At this site the company stores different<br />
products for their regional und international customers.<br />

The Distribution Logistics & Services (DLS) Division comprises warehousing<br />
logistics, distribution of goods to the consumer, in-plant logistics (logistics and<br />
control of goods and information flows using own staff on the site of the customer),<br />
and activity in the seaports of Rotterdam, Antwerp and Hamburg. This<br />
includes services for the transport of containers, bulk and mixed cargoes; handling,<br />
storage and onward transport of freight; to customs coordination and inventory<br />
management − right up to dispatch monitoring.<br />
In all, LEHNKERING has more than 271,500 varied palette-storage places at<br />
its disposal, including temperature-controlled and air-conditioned storage space.<br />
The DLS depots are located in Baar-Ebenhausen, Biebesheim, Bottrop, Duisburg,<br />
Fürth, Hamburg, Krefeld/Uerdingen, Langelsheim, Leuna, Lübeck, Mannheim,<br />
Münster, Schönebeck/Elbe, Schüttorf, Wolfenbüttel, Barendrecht (The<br />
Netherlands), Rotterdam, and Ennis (Texas, USA).<br />

− they run from import and export handling, to delivery-in-<br />
store and incoming-goods monitoring, right up to individual<br />
order picking and Europe-wide distribution. LEHNKERING<br />
can further provide its customers with fiscal representati-<br />
on and, because the goods in the bonded warehouse are<br />
only subject to customs dues when they are taken out,<br />
LEHNKERING also undertakes this task.<br />
