LEHNKERING
on course for growth
The first half-year 2010 was viewed with optimism
at LEHNKERING. Its Vision 2013 sees the firm
emphasizing growth through investment.
Two new gas-tanker ships, the replacement of 217
trucks and more than 200 canvas-covered trailers and
high growth rates, all indicate that LEHNKERING is
expecting its order-books to continue to grow.
It will be 95 metres long and 11.45 metres wide, the
latest ship in our company’s fleet of gas tankers.
On 23 April 2010 LEHNKERING commissioned the Dutch
shipyard TeamCo SHIPYARD BV to build the new gas tanker,
the same yard that built the LRG GAS 87, which was put into
service in 2009. As with the LRG GAS 85, 86 and 87, once
again BUREAU VERITAS has been commissioned as the
ship-classification bureau.
In all, the LRG GAS 88 will be the seventeenth ship in the
LEHNKERING fleet of inland-navigation vessels. It will
take about 14 months to build. Two modern 634 KW
engines with economical fuel consumption will
drive the new vessel. The gas tanker’s area of
deployment will be the European waterways
and canals.
