Cultural Surveys Hawai‘i Job Code: KALIHI 23 Kewalo <strong>Test</strong> <strong>Excavation</strong>s 162 – 178Summary: T-172A was excavated to a depth of 1.60 mbs, and beneath the water table at 1.50mbs. The stratigraphy of T-172A consisted of fill strata overlying natural sediment to the watertable. The stratigraphy generally conformed to the USDA soil survey designation of Fill land(FL). A total of 47 historic artifacts were collected from T-172A, Stratum Ic. One of the bottlesdates to the 1920s-1940s and was distributed by an O‘ahu bottler. The large number of variedcolored tiles may be flooring or wall tiles of a structure or construction debris, dating to the midtwentieth century.
