The following section coversnavigation and data entry features.Add, Modify, and Delete DataTax returns are prepared in Drake by entering pertinent information on specific data entryscreens. Entries are used to calculate the federal and state tax return forms. To open a dataentry screen, use one of the following methods:• Keyboard — From any tab, type the form code in the selector field and press ENTER.• Mouse — Select a tab and click the screen name.Save and Exit Data Entry ScreensPress ESC to exit a screen. Information on that screen is saved. Press ESC on the Homescreen or click the X in the top right corner of the screen to exit the Drake program.ResetPress CTRL + U to reset a data entry screen to the state it was in when you opened it.Exit Without SavingPress SHIFT + ESC to exit the screen without saving. This resets the screen and returnsyou to the Data Entry Menu.Delete a ScreenTo delete a screen, use one of the following methods:• Press CTRL + D from within the screen. At the prompt, click OK.• Right-click within the screen (but not within a field) and select Delete Screen.• Multiple occurrences of a screen (for example, if you have entered two 1099s) aredisplayed in an Existing Forms List. See “Existing Forms List” on page 50.Select the appropriate screens to open and delete.___NOTEIf a data entry screen has data, the screen name appears as colored texton the Data Entry Menu. Removing all data from the screen does notdelete the screen. Press ESC to return to theStates list. You can also enter the two-letter state code in the selector field to display stateand city screen menus. To access another state, enter another state code or go the Statestab and click the selected state. It is not necessary to return to the main federal formsscreen of the Data Entry Menu to enter a new state code.For states with city tax, the city forms for that state are listed on the City tab of that state’sData Entry Menu.
