Her PhD workfocused on modelling theperformance of internationaljoint ventures in construction.She joined Salford Centre forResearch & Innovation in July2008 as a Research Fellowto investigate the ways howinnovation occurs in theconstruction industry. Herresearch interests mainlyinclude innovation, knowledgemanagement, strategiccollaborations, internationalconstruction, and project management.Mr Carl AbbottMr Carl Abbott is a SeniorResearch Fellow at theUniversity of Salford andManager of Salford Centre forResearch & Innovation. Sincehe joined the University ofSalford in 1999, he hasworked closely withindustry in the region, helping toestablish the Centre forConstruction Innovation andworking as the ConstructingExcellence Regional InnovationDirector. He is joint co-ordinatorof the recently establishedCIB task group on RecognisingInnovation in Construction.His current research interestsinclude innovation, offsitemanufacture, benchmarking,and ICT.Professor GhassanAouadProfessor Ghassan Aouad isthe Pro-Vice-Chancellor forResearch and Innovation atthe University. Ghassan isalso Co-Director of the £5mEPSRC funded Salford Centrefor Research & Innovation inthe Built & Human Environment,a visiting professor atUniversiti Teknologi Malaysia(UTM), and Fellow of the CIOB.Ghassan has spent the last 20years teaching and researchingsubjects related to the areasof Information Modelling andVisualisation, nD simulation,and process mapping.Professor James PowellProfessor James Powell isthe Director of UPBEAT &Smart City Futures.
