3.4 THE SNAILAge : 6 years and olderNumber of players : minimum 5-10Time: 10 minMaterial : noneEXPLANATIONEverybody forms a circle; the facilitator stays out and plays the snail. He starts singing: « and one and two and three,and the third comes with me », he touches three players and the third follows him. When everybody is following thesnail, which stops, the others surround it with a tight circle and they stop forming the spiral shell. The facilitator shows theplayers the spiral shape the circle has taken. Then the last one walks back to the opposite direction, everybody followsforming the circle again and he sings: “I am a snail, I’m not a mouse and I never leave my house, if I feel lonely someonewill cheer me up, and one and two and three and the third comes with me. In my house we ‘ll stay like kings”.GOAL OF THE GAME28Move, improve body contact, have fun, make rhythmic movementsin cooperation with others.
3.5 CROCODILE GAMEAge : 10 years and olderNumber of players : minimum 10Time: 10 minMaterial: sheets of paperEXPLANATIONShow the players the borders of the area where they are free to swim as in a lake. Put the sheets of paper on theground, those represent islands.Command everybody to swim all around the place except on the papers till the facilitator shouts: “crocodile” andeverybody runs onto the papers in order not to be eaten. Those who are not on the islands are eaten and thereforeeliminated from the game. Keep reducing the number of islands to make the game more interesting. Finally the oneleft is the winner.GOAL OF THE GAMEHave fun, stimulate movements and cooperation among the players.29
