10.8 THE SHIPWRECKAge : 10 years and olderNumber of <strong>play</strong>ers : minimum 15 max 45Ti<strong>me</strong>: 60 minMaterial: noneGOAL OF THE GAMEEXPLANATIONDivide the participants in<strong>to</strong> groups of 15 people.The group has <strong>to</strong> imagine <strong>to</strong> be in a shipwreck, and has <strong>to</strong> go on a small boat <strong>with</strong> their personal belongings in order<strong>to</strong> survive on a deserted island. On the boat they can only get 10 objects. The objects must be chosen according <strong>to</strong> theirimportance <strong>to</strong> survive on the island. Each participant writes his list, and then in small groups of 3 everybody shares hislist and writes a common list.After each small group will choose a <strong>play</strong>er who will take part at the wreck council in order <strong>to</strong> choose the final list. Thecouncil chooses, having the other participants sat around them in a circle.At the end of the ga<strong>me</strong> ask everybody the followingquestions:How did <strong>you</strong> reach the final list?Was the agree<strong>me</strong>nt easy?Which conflicts did <strong>you</strong> have?Did each participant feel represented by the council?Did each participant accept the final decision even if so<strong>me</strong>body would have supported different choices?Cooperate and find a solution <strong>to</strong>gether through a <strong>me</strong>diation.83
