The AccentThe National Council of Kappa Kappa Psi isexcited to once again offer a dynamic opportunityto our students: This summer, we will kick offour second Summer Leadership Symposia in twolocations. Our workshops will focus on the theme,“Conducting Tomorrow’s Leaders” The mainthings that outline our conduct in Kappa Kappa Psiis the Ritual we all as brothers experience. It is theone thing that truly binds us across the nation. Thisworkshop, developed by Past National PresidentKirk Randazzo, will take the lessons we learn inour final steps toward becoming a Brother andturn them into tangible and usable resources tohelp create dynamic and empowered leaders in ourfraternity. The first symposium will be held in Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania on June 7th and the other will beon June 21st in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Whentalking to students many suggested we makethis as cost efficient as possible. Therefore, theregistration cost for the event is fifty (50) dollars. This fee not only includes registration, but alsoincludes your hotel costs for the Friday andSaturday night of the event. National Headquarterswill be planning all housing for this event –you will NOT have to make a separate hotelreservation. The workshop itself will take place allday Saturday.Notes from Nationals2008 Leadership SymposiumAdam CantleyPittsburgh, PA, June 6-8, 2008Doubletree Hotel Pittsburgh Airport8402 University BoulevardMoon Township, PA 15108Spring 2008 EditionOn-time registration: Postmarked by April 7th =$50Later Registration: Received by April 17th = $65No Registration Accepted after April 17th$50 covers hotel room for the nights of June 6-7 and registration for the LeadershipOklahoma City, OK, June 20-22, 2008Sheraton Oklahoma City1 N BroadwayOklahoma City, OK 73102On-time registration: Postmarked by April 29th =$50Later Registration: Received by May 17th = $65No Registration Accepted after May 17th$50 covers hotel room for the nights of June 20-21 and registration for the LeadershipIf you have any questions, please feel free tocontact me at adamcantley@kkpsi.org or visitwww.kkpsi.org. This summer, you can be a part ofhistory by being one of the student membersto attend the Summer Leadership Symposia:“Conducting Tomorrow’s Leaders!”Note to the Accent Readers: “Notes from Nationals” will now also include articles relevant to ourthemes from chapters across the country! Look on the next page for TBS’s Alpha Xi Article aboutsocial bonding! If there is a topic you would like to hear addressed by other members of otherdistricts, please let the Accent Committee know! WDAccent@gmail.comFor a little background on this change: I sent an email to the National listserv about the Accent, asking if anyone would like to contribute or had any comments! I immediately recieved anemail back from Melissa Measor from TBS’s Alpha Xi explaining that the Kadenza, NCD’s DistrictPublication, was being discontinued for the year because of a lack of participation from chaptersin the district.I have no intention of attempting to make this a national publication, we have The Podiumalready! However, I do believe that a publication written by the Western District could prove to bea useful resource for members outside our District, especially those without a district publication.I also believe that insight from other chapters outside our District would provide us with a betterprospective, understanding, and appreciation of our organzationsLet me know if you have comments on or concerns about this!Sarah DiringerPage 16
