CHAPTER 3ITERIn its role as the European Domestic Agencyfor ITER, <strong>F4E</strong> is responsible for the preparationand coordination of the design, research anddevelopment (R&D) and fabrication of most of thehigh-technology components that are required toconstruct ITER including:Site and Buildings··Site infrastructure and all the concrete and steelframe buildings.Magnets··Ten Toroidal Field (TF) coils and 20% of theNb 3Sn conductor to be used in the TF coils;··Five Poloidal Field (PF) coils and 11% of NbTiconductor for the PF coils;··Nine fibreglass composite pre-compressionrings.Vacuum Vessel and In-Vessel Components··Vacuum Vessel - Seven sectors of the vessel andblanket coolant manifolds;··Blanket - 50% of the first wall modules accordingto the latest sharing;··Divertor - cassettes and inner vertical target.Heating and Current Drive Systems··Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating System (ICRH)System (equatorial port plug incorporating oneICRH antenna and spares);··Electron Cyclotron Heating System (four upperport plugs incorporating launchers, 32% of thesources and 14% of the power supplies);··Neutral Beam Heating System (100% assemblyand testing and active correction, compensationcoils and ~50% of other components.
