It is fantastic to onceagain see “home grown” talent move into thesenew positions.The following contributions are from the teams inNew Zealand and AustraliaCaroTrans New Zealand – Steve HendryRecently CaroTrans participated in the 8th AnnualAuckland Mainfreight International Awards Night.This was a black tie event and certainly thehighlight of the year where we join together andcelebrate the individuals who have contributed tothe success of the business.The importance of the Awards night cannotbe overstated… it’s part of our culture, historyand provides a real opportunity to recogniseand reward some of our top performing teammembers.• Claire Patterson – Most Improved TeamMember• Wayne Zhu – Nickname of the Year• Steve Hendry – Sales AwardThank you to Dianne Clemens and Todd Chandlerfor all your efforts in making this a very successfulnight.The awards are a mixture of comical through tothe more revered awards - Player of the Year andTeam of the Year; it is important to note that therecipients are nominated by their peers.The night started with a minute of silence inrespect to the Mangatepopo River tragedy whichdirectly affected several members of the branch.Whilst a sombre start to the night, the mood wasquickly lifted by the band and the night kicked offwith some of the less serious awards.For CaroTrans, the Awards night was verysuccessful with three team members receivingawards:With guest appearances from “Mildred, Wilfreda, and Freda”the latest NZ pop sensation, the night reached new levels.
