38Branch of the year –Mainfreight RotoruaAfter being pipped at the post for the honour lastyear, the team at Rotorua got back up, wiped theirbloody noses and excelled in 2007.In all the categories measured, from profit, qualityof operations and development of people, thebranch met or in most cases exceeded ourstandards. Well done team, well deserved.Salesperson of the year –Jonathan EastJonathan, or Jono to his mates, was oursuperman in sales last year. His mild mannerand humility disguising a steely resolve that led tooutstanding result for him personally and also theteam he leads at Mainfreight Auckland.Daily Freight ChristchurchNic Kay and the team at Daily Freight Christchurchmoved in to their new shed over the Easter breakin March.The facility follows the new blue print for ourpurpose-built buildings with wide docks and railaccess through the centre of the building.Franchise of the year –TimaruAlthough the competitors were hard at their heels,it was perhaps appropriate that the franchise ofthe year trophy was won yet again by MainfreightTimaru.Adrian and Ingrid Fergusson have grownthis branch from very small beginnings, to adominating force in the town.A growing brood of grandchildren has promoted amove for Adrian and Ingrid to Christchurch whereAdrian now works for us in Special Projects.Well done for a Franchise of the year threepeat!!You leave big shoes for Murray and JulietKippenberger to fill, but we’re sure they’re up tothe challenge.The team is delighted to have the luxury of suchthings as walls on the terminal to keep the crispwinter mornings at bay, and we are pleased tosee the beautiful new lunch room doing a roaringtrade.
