50Outward Bound – AnnetteWebb/Paul Riethmaier‘Only those who risk going too far can possiblyfind out how far they can go’ - Kurt Hahn (cofounderof Outward Bound)Paul and I were truly privileged to be able toattend Outward Bound with 12 other TeamMembers from NZ and Australia in May 2008.We spent eight days in the stunning surroundingsof the Marlbourough Sounds being physically,emotionally and mentally challenged every day -all day, all night!The life lessons we have learnt, the experienceswe have had, the friendships we have made,the goals we have set, the challenges we haveovercome have without a doubt enhanced andchanged both ours and our fellow team mateslives forever.Outward Bound has an amazing ability to bringa group of near strangers together, give us thetools to be able to form the most close-knitteam and to push an individual’s boundaries toits limits. Along this life changing journey eachof us learnt to consistently challenge the statusquo and find that little bit extra in ourselves. Thewhole experience has given us a burning passionto bring our experiences and personal growthback into our everyday lives and our respectivebranches to share with our own teams.‘The future is not some place we are going to, butone we are creating’This year, our focus is strongly on bringing on newbusiness and achieving our profit target.
