MAINTENANCEC. Transmission1Travel Reduction GeardWARNING:• Each component of the travel reduction gearmay be hot immediately after operation. Allowcomponents to cool before starting to work onthem.• The travel reduction gear may be pressurized.Be sure to release the internal pressure by slowlyloosen the air bleed plug two to three turns beforeremoving the plug. Failure to do so may cause theplug and/or gear oil to fly out, possibly resulting inpersonal injury. Keep body and face away from theair bleed plug.1Check Oil Level --- every 250 hours1. Park the machine on a level surface.2. Rotate the travel motor until plugs are positioned asillustrated on the right. Stop the engine.3. Slowly loosen plug (1) to release pressure.4. Remove plugs (1 and 2). Check that oil flows out of thethread hole for plug (2). If no oil flows out, add oil untiloil flows out of the plughole.5.
