MAINTENANCE3. Begin servicing hydraulic components only after thecomponents, hydraulic oil and lubricants are completelycooled, and after releasing residual pressure.3.1 Bleed air pressure from the hydraulic oil tank.3.2 Each component, hydraulic oil, and lubricant may behot and/or pressurized immediately after operation.Allow the machine to cool down before beginninginspection or maintenance. Failure to do so may causeburns caused by contact with hot component and/oroil, or injury by contacting flying off of plugs and /orscrews. Hydraulic components may be pressurizedeven when cooled. Keep body parts and face awayfrom plugs or screws and slowly loosen them. Removeplugs and screws only after thoroughly releasing theresidual pressure.3.3 Never attempt to service or inspect the travel andswing motor circuits on slopes. Even after air pressureis released from the hydraulic oil tank, the machine ona slope will create force to pressurize hydraulic oil inthe travel and swing circuit by its own weight.1Check Hydraulic Oil Level--- daily1. Park the machine on a solid level surface. Position themachine with the arm cylinder fully retracted and thebucket cylinder fully extended. Lower the bucket andblade to the ground. Stop the engine.2. Check oil level gauge (1) on the side of the hydraulic oiltank. MAINTENANCE2dDrain Hydraulic Oil Tank Sump--- every 250 hoursWARNING: Be sure to work only after oil temperatureis low or before operation. Failure to do so mayallow high temperature oil to spray, possibly causingsevere burns.1. Park the machine on a solid level surface. Position themachine with the arm cylinder fully retracted and thebucket cylinder fully extended. Lower the bucket andblade to the ground. Stop the engine.M1M7-05-0242. Leave the machine without operating the machine untilhydraulic oil becomes cool. Then, bleed air pressure fromthe hydraulic oil tank.3.
