(if separate age competition allows); andf) No player under 8yrs of age will be able to participate in the Netta Competitionwithout participation in the FUNNET learning program, or at the discretion of theExecutive Committee.14.1. <strong>Laws</strong>a) Goalposts where possible to be adjusted to eight (8) feet;b) 24” netball, volleyball or soccer ball of all leather or composite leather, i.e., size 4ball;c) After catching the ball throw within six (6) seconds;d) Allow minimum shuffling on the spot to gain balance before throwing without movingdown the court;e) Strict “man to man” defence to all play;f) A player may defend an opponent with the ball from a distance of four (4) feet;g) When contact or obstruction occurs, the offending player is not “put out of play”.Rather, the umpire should explain and place the player where they may defend. Thatis, four (4) feet from their opponent;h) A team of up to ten (10) players may interchange its players at quarter, half andthree quarter time intervals. Each player is to play at least two (2) quarters;i) Four (4) quarters of ten (10) minutes to be played;j) Umpires:a. To use simple language to explain decisions; andb. To adopt an encouraging and pleasant manner to ensure an open and freeflowing game, particularly in the setting up of penalties and throw-ins; andk) No scores to be recorded.15. DURATIONAs per <strong>Netball</strong> NSW rulebook, intervals subject to ratification by the <strong>Association</strong>.16. FORFEITSa) Teams are to notify the Games Co-Ordinator of all forfeits no later than one (1) hourprior to game time;b) Any team which forfeits three (3) times in a season shall be deemed to have forfeitedits right to play within the <strong>Association</strong> and shall be suspended from playing for theduration of the season.16.1. Un-notified forfeits - fine to teamsc) There are no fines for Juniors, except where game forfeited is to be played on anindoor court, as per (e);d) Seniors - $10.00 fine (no fine is applicable to a notified forfeit); ande) In the event of an un-notified forfeit on an indoor court, the forfeiting team isresponsible for payment of both teams court fees.17. SEMI FINALS, FINALS AND GRAND FINALS17.1. Grading of Teams for Semi FinalsIf two (2) or more teams are on equal points after the final round, positions for the semifinalsshall be decided by the goal average.Page 17Updated November 2010
