LITHGOW DISTRICT NETBALL ASSOCIATION INC.BY-LAWSThe number of games actually played includes a game, which a team has forfeited but doesnot include a game where the team received a forfeit.17.2. Standby umpiresStandby umpires will be arranged for every time slot in semis, finals and grand finals.17.3. Official TimekeepersOne (1) official timekeeper will be arranged for semis, finals and grand finals. (In the eventof tied games or injury time, the officials in the Clubroom must be notified immediately).17.4. Playing of Finals (Semis, Finals and Grand Finals)i) Semi finals in all grades except for Netta;Major semi-final - 1 st versus 2 nd ;Minor semi-final - 3 rd versus 4 th ;ii) Finals in all grades except for Netta. Major semi final loser plays winner of minorsemi-final. Minor semi final is out of the competition;iii) Grand finals in all grades except for Netta;Major semi final winner plays winner of final.17.5. Tied games in Semis and FinalsIn the event of tied games in semis and finals in all grades an extra five (5) minutes eachway to be played. If still tied, the captains and both umpires toss for first centre then thefirst team to score a goal is the winner.17.6. Tied games - Grand Finals -JuniorsIn the event of tied games for grand finals they are declared joint winners.17.7. Tied games - Grand Finals - SeniorsPlay ten (10) minutes each way. If still tied, joint winners are declared.18. WET WEATHER GAMES(a) Executive on Duty / Wet Weather Committee to inspect Courts one (1) hour prior tocommencement of play, before making decision on games. If necessary the wetweather draw with be invoked;(b) In the event of extreme weather conditions, that Saturdays draw is to be totallyabandoned - points for that round to be two (2) points each team;(c) If any games in a division have been played and other games in the same division orage group are being played and have to be abandoned, “due to an act of God”, acomplete replay of the games abandoned will be played at a date to be decided;(d) If all games in a division are being played at the same time and have to beabandoned “due to an act of God” the team which is leading at the time ofabandonment shall be deemed the winner, provided abandonment occurs after atleast half time; and(e) In all other instances games to be replayed if possible. INJURY TIMEUp to two (2) minutes to be allowed for injury time but no injury time to be added to game,except during semi final, final and grand finals.20. INTERCHANGE OF PLAYERSTo be applied as per Netball NSW rules.21. UMPIRESa) All junior teams must supply the names of one (1) umpire and one (1) alternateumpire. The Umpiring Co-ordinator and Sub-Committee will allocate this umpire to agame that is deemed to be neutral in the grade specified;b) All senior teams / divisions must supply the names of two (2) umpires;c) The umpires named must:· Be competent;· Hold a current pass in the Umpires’ Theoretical Examination or be prepared tosit the examination held each year;· Be approved by the Umpires Committee; and· Attend a basic umpires lecture;d) All non-playing umpires will be required to wear white.· Females: White dress or skirt and top, or full tracksuit with minimum colourtrim;· Males: White shorts with white shirt or full white tracksuit with minimumcolour trim.e) All umpires are required to: -(i) Sign on at umpires control; and(ii) Sign the score sheet at completion of game.f) All standby umpires are required to: -(i) Sign on at umpires control; and(ii) Stay at the control centre the entire game to be ready to fill in if required.g) Penalty as per Team Rules: (b)22. UMPIRING AWARDSa) A thank you gift shall be awarded to any member who has:· Umpired eight (8) competition games in a season;· Passed the Netball NSW Section 1 Umpires Theory Exam within the past six(6) years; and· Passed the Netball NSW Umpires Exam in the past three (3) years.b) Umpiring for one (1) full day at any Championships conducted by Netball NSW shallbe classed as four (4) competition games. Umpiring for one (1) full day at anyrepresentative carnival conducted under Netball NSW rules shall be classed as three(3) competition games.c) Coaching of members for district or state badges shall also be deemed to be service.Coaching given over two (2) competition games shall be classed as service for one(1) competition game.d) After three (3) cloth badges have been awarded, then a suitable gift to be awarded inthe fourth and subsequent years.e) Standby umpires shall also be deemed to be service with half (1/2) competition gamebeing allocated.Page 19Updated November 2010
