Sweden - Stockholm Arlanda AirportEquipment:Quantity:Duration:Scope:ASP and SafeControl system~12.000 LMSThe first system was installed in 1989 and has since then beenupdated and extended each year as the airport requirementshave changed.ASP system for individual monitoring and control of airfieldlighting. Today the system covers the lighting systems on all threerunways including approach, PAPI and runway lights. The systemalso covers all taxiway lighting as well as runway guard lights,stop-bars, sensors, lead-on, lead-in, de-icing areas, traffic lightsand LVP warning lights etc. Including the last extension made in2007 the system have a total of 11.800 lights, divided on 118series circuits, and having more than 1000 defined lightsegments. The ASP system is installed in five substations. The SafeControl system has six workstations (Touch Entry Display)in the TWR controlling all airfield lighting at the airport includingthe three runways and all taxiways via CCRs and an ASP system. There are also interfaces to ground radar, MET system, NAV aids, etc. The system is checking the availability of each system andevaluating it against the criterias for the different operationalmodes of the airport. It is an Ethernet based system and built withfull redundancy. There are also workstations for presentation inthe different workshops and a mobile workstation via a radioLAN.Late 2008 Arlanda also installed their first SafeLED IQ lights to thesystem, used for stop bar and lead-on, and has since then alsoadded more SafeLED IQ lights. During autumn 2010 moreSafeLED IQs were installed to replace lights with halogen lampsand LMS. These SafeLED IQs are connected to two circuits withfixed 2A supply that will reduce the power consumption in cablesand transformers compared to a conventional 6,6A supply. As the current level is fixed the intensity control of these lightsuses the ASP communication instead.Page 33 of 50Rev. 3.0
