All Contractors and Sub-Contractors must satisfactorily perform safety related requirementsincluding, but not limited to, the following:Conduct pre-shift toolbox sessions.Conduct formal monthly or more frequent safety meetings.Conduct employee observations.Correct unsafe acts and conditions.Implement and maintain written safe job procedures.Conduct periodic safety audits and inspections.Document all safety related activities (those above and those not mentioned here).Contractor Access into the PlantAll Contractor employees must enter the plant via the Contractor-designated gate(s)provided unless the Plant and / or Safety approve other arrangements through PlantSecurity.All contractor employees must present a current <strong>AK</strong> <strong>Steel</strong> Contractor’s badge to Security upontheir request before access is allowed into the plant. Each Contractor employee must individuallybadge in and out in accordance with the plant’s requirements.All Contractors and/or Contractor employees must be able to provide documentation of acurrent drug screening (< 12 months) upon request by any Company Official or CompanyDesignee.Site Specific OrientationAll Contractor and Sub-Contractor employees are required to complete a Site SpecificOrientation prior to conducting hands-on work. Ashland, Butler, Coshocton/Zanesville,Mansfield, Middletown, and Rockport have different site specific training; therefore, one plant'straining will not be accepted for any other.Contractors are responsible for scheduling this Site Specific Orientation through the respectiveplant’s Safety Department or designated representative.Contractors, working at Middletown Works, are responsible for scheduling the MiddletownWorks site-specific orientation with Human Resources at (513) 425-6405.<strong>AK</strong> <strong>Steel</strong> Contractors’ BadgePrior to being issued an <strong>AK</strong> <strong>Steel</strong> Contractor’s badge, Contractor employees are required toprovide the following:Documentation of completion of the OSHA 10-Hour Construction or General IndustrySafety Course (if applicable).Documentation of a negative drug and alcohol test. These drug and alcohol screens willbe performed on site at the <strong>AK</strong> Plant Medical Facility or at an <strong>AK</strong> designated collectionlocation.Documentation of completion of the Site Specific Orientation.Middletown Works – Contractor badges must be renewed annually.<strong>AK</strong> <strong>Steel</strong> <strong>Supplier</strong> <strong>Requirements</strong> Page 45 of 55Revised 01/13
