Class Notes1940’sJames E. Bardenwerper, DDS’47,is retired in St. Germain, Wisconsin.He had the honor of hooding hisgrandson, David M. Connell, DDS,a 2009 graduate of MarquetteUniversity School of Dentistry.David was inducted into OmicronKappa Upsilon and is pictured withDr. Bardenwerper at right.1960’sDonald B. Sherman, DDS’63,lectured at the Juvenile DiabetesResearch Foundation’s DiabetesToday and Tomorrow Conference inLivonia on May 30, 2009. His topicwas The Interrelationships: YourMouth, Your Teeth and Diabetes.1970’sStephen E. Hershey, DDS’74, MA, MS,was elected President of the AmericanAssociation of OrthodontistsFoundation (AAOF) for 2009-2010.AAOF is the charitable arm of theAmerican Association of Orthodontists.Dr. Hershey joined the AAOF Boardof Directors in 2004, representingthe Great Lakes Association ofOrthodontists (GLAO). Dr. Hersheyhas offices in Waterford and Highland,Michigan. He and his wife Patti livein Clarkston and have six children.1980’sStephen R. Harris, DDS’83, andadjunct faculty member LloydLariscy, DDS, won their flight in theMeadowbrook Men’s Green CoatInvitational held in July. They arepictured at right.Mark S. Glovis, DDS’85, wasrecognized as an Associate Fellow ofthe American Academy of ImplantDentistry at their meeting in SanDiego in November 2008. He alsoreceived the Henry Ford WyandotteHospital and Medical Center Awardfor Humanitarian Service for 2008.Dr. Glovis has served on the CourtesyStaff of the Department of Surgerysince 1988. He is pictured with hiswife Marie below.Charles D. Hasse, DDS’75, MD,has been elected Secretary of theAmerican College of Oral and MaxillofacialSurgeons. Sheand husband Aaron Ruskin, DDS’00,who is an oral surgeon, have threechildren: twin daughters Sasha andSydney, 4, and son Harrison, 2.Danielle and Aaron are pictured atright.Michael Evans, DDS’99, was electedPresident of the Lethbridge andDistrict Dental Society in Lethbridge,Alberta, Canada for a two year term.He previously served as Treasurerof the Society from 2004-2009. Heis pictured, below right, with hiswife Leigh Ann.2000’sDavid Ho, DDS’06, and Amy Berger-Ho, RDH’05, have relocated toPrescott/Prescott Valley, Arizona.For the past two years, Amy hasbeen working as a faculty dentalhygienist in the joint School ofDentistry/State of Michigan/HenryFord Health System Partnershipproviding increased access to oralhealth care for children enrolled ineight Detroit public schools. Davidcompleted his pediatric dentistryresidency at the University of Toledoalong with a Master of Science inOral Biology in June. His projectwas Evaluation of the Efficacy ofOraqix in Providing Soft TissueAnesthesia for Rubber Dam Isolation.David will join Kidzaam Dentistry asan Associate.
