Of NoteKathleen Neveu, RDH, MS, was appointed to the role of Assistant ProgramDirector in the Division of Dental Hygiene. Professor Neveu has been withthe School of Dentistry since 1989. Professor Neveu has served on numerouscommittees and also served an important role in the compliance of InfectionControl and Safety.Mary Parise, RN, DDS, assumed the role of Director of Advanced Education inGeneral Dentistry and Director of Predoctoral Patient Care for the CorktownCampus. Dr. Parise joined UDM in 1995 as Adjunct Clinical Instructor and waspromoted to Clinical Associate Professor in 2005. Dr. Parise has served invarious faculty and administrative roles at the School of Dentistry includingappointments in the Departments of Oral Diagnosis and Radiology and PatientManagement, Group Practice Administrator and Director of Predoctoral PatientCare at UHC. Most recently, Dr. Parise served as Interim Assistant Dean of ClinicAdministration and Interim Chairperson of the Department of Pediatric Dentistry.Nahid Kashani, DDS, MSD, was appointed InterimChairperson of the recently combined Biomedicaland Diagnostic Sciences Department. Dr. Kashaniis a dental graduate of Case Western University andreceived a certificate of Oral Medicine along with herMSD from Case Western. Dr. Kashani has been withUDM since 1996 and has served in various roles, mostrecently as the Director of Predoctoral Patient Care atthe Corktown Campus and Interim Chairperson of theDepartment of Diagnostic Sciences. Dr. Kashani holdsan academic appointment as Clinical Associate Professor. She is also activelyinvolved with the Academy of General Dentistry and has served on numerousSchool of Dentistry committees during her time at UDM.Durinda Mattana, RDH, MS, who served as Director of Continuing Educationfor eight years was responsible for providing the leadership for what is now anational caliber CE program. She has chosen to return to a full-time position asAssociate Professor in the Division of Dental Hygiene and pursue her interestsin Dental Hygiene Education.Kimberly Mercier-Perry, RDH, MHSA,was named Director of ContinuingEducation and Alumni Relationseffective July 6, 2009. This was anexpansion of her prior part-time roleassisting the School of Dentistry withAlumni Relations and a combinationof two positions essential to themission of the School of Dentistry.Ms. Perry served in several roles atthe School including Special ProgramsCoordinator, Adjunct Clinical AssociateProfessor, and Faculty PracticeHygienist. She served as a memberof the School of Dentistry AlumniBoard of Directors. Ms. Perryreceived her Bachelor of Science inDental Hygiene along with a Masterof Health Services Administrationfrom UDM. Linda Wells, DMD, MBA, joined UDMSD as Assistant Dean for Clinic Administrationeffective June 15, 2009. Dr. Wells came to the School of Dentistry fromMarquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she served as ClinicalDirector and Chair of the Department of Clinical Sciences since 2002. Shereceived her DMD from Temple University and an MBA from Yale University.Dr. Wells also holds a full-time faculty position as Clinical Associate Professorin the Department of Patient Management.Laura E. Wright, BA, was recentlynamed Community OutreachCoordinator. She earned her BAfrom the University of Detroit Mercy.Ms. Wright was most recently theFinancial Assistant at the UniversityHealth Center Dental Clinic. Shewas instrumental in expanding theHIV/AIDS dental program from 150patients to over 1600 patients in thelast four years. Ms. Wright currentlyserves on the Girl Scouts of SoutheasternMichigan Board where sheis responsible for raising $80,000 fortheir Family Partnership programand $385,000 for their sister to sisterprogram.Richard Kelley, BA, MBA, was named Executive Director of Development,Continuing Education, Alumni Relations, and Communications. Mr. Kelley joinsthe School of Dentistry from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra where he servedas Director of Major Gifts. Mr. Kelley has a history with UDM having served asthe Director of Development for the College of Business Administration from2002 to 2004 and Director of Alumni Relations for the School of Law from 2001to 2002. Mr. Kelley received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administrationfrom Michigan State University and his Master of Business Administration fromUDM.University of Detroit Mercy | School of Dentistry
