The installation of the experiment or the modification should not commence until allapprovals has been obtained and before the relevant staff involved in the installation has beentrained satisfactorily.6.10. The schedule for the installation of the experiment or for the modification should beprepared in consultation <strong>with</strong> the reactor manager to ensure that the reactor is placed in a safestate before commencing the activity.Management6.11. The management of the installation stage of the project should cover at least thefollowing:– Clear identification of all responsibilities, including those related to the managementsystem procedures and radiological protection.– Frequent progress/information meetings <strong>with</strong> all (technical, operational and healthphysics) staff involved in or affected by the implementation.– Clear procedures <strong>with</strong> respect to the control (reporting, assessment and disposition) ofdeviations from approved methods and specifications or from the expected behaviour.– Measurement and registration of all characteristics of the system as built; this isrequired for updating relevant technical documents and procedures.– Training and provision of information to internal and external staff <strong>with</strong> respect to theimplementation scenario, methods, safety aspects, safe working practices.– Contingencies in the project plans to accommodate unforeseen events and operationaldeviations which may require a revision of the working practices and the projectplanning.<strong>Saf</strong>ety aspects6.12. The designer should develop a safety evaluation of the installation process, whichshould be based on a detailed installation plan, describing activities, methods, identification ofhazards, temporary provisions and the technical or administrative measures or precautions,which should be implemented to minimize the risk during the installation activities wherenecessary detailed.29
