Data transportationis handled by the S7system bus PROFIBUS DP(see Fig. 2/13).The optional softwareDrive ES combines thepreviously individual stepsof configuring (hardwareconfiguring, parameter assignment,technology functions)and the control functionsbetween SIMATIC S7and <strong>SIMOVERT</strong> MASTER-DRIVES, in one softwaretool.Fully integrated in the STEP 7Manager, Drive ES consistsof four packages withdifferent functions.Drive ES Basic is used forconvenient startup and forservicing and diagnosticsduring plant operation. The communicationbetweenSIMATIC S7 and Siemensdrives (e.g. <strong>SIMOVERT</strong><strong>MASTERDRIVES</strong>) can thenbe configured usingpreconfigured CPU functionblocks and simple parameterassignment. Furthermore,incorporation of drives withPROFIBUS DP interface viaEngineeringof drive and automationwithSTEP 7 V 5.0PCPGDrive-relatedparameter assignment,service and diagnosticsPROFIBUS DPDrive ES PCS7 in SIMATICPCS7 is possible.In joint operation with thePROFIBUS DP communicationboard CBP2, Drive ESsupports additional functionalitiessuch as clock synchronizationof drives,slave-to-slave communicationbetween drives and flexibleconfiguration of the cyclicmessages (see page6/57).2Siemens DA 65.10 · 2003/20042/13
