Compact and chassis unitsCabinet unitsSIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES Vector ControlEngineering InformationTechnologyT400 technology boardApplicationThe T400 technology boardis a 32-bit CPU board forhighly dynamic, technologicalclosed-loop and openloopcontrol functions. It issupplied with extensive integratedperipheral units.Configuration tool: SIMATICSTEP 7 / CFC V 4.0For use in the electronics boxof the SIMOVERT MASTER-DRIVES Vector Control units.Standard configurationsfor frequently occurringapplications such as synchronism, winders, positioningare available as a CFC sourcecode. The T400 board isready for immediate use withthe standard configurations. It simply has to be parameterizedand does notrequire configuration withSTEP7/CFC.If the T400 is configured withCFC, function-block terminalscan also be defined asparameters in order to observeor alter them, for example, through the followinginterfaces: the PMU parameterizingunit or the OP1S operatorcontrol panel the T400 USS interfacewith the OP1S operatorcontrol panel or the DriveES Basic and DriveMonitorprograms for PCs PROFIBUS DP (via the CBPcommunication board).Characteristics(inputs/outputs) 2 analog outputs 5 analog inputs 2 binary outputs 8 binary inputs 4 bidirectional binary inputsor outputs. 2 incremental-encoder inputswith zero pulse –Encoder 1 for HTL (15 V)encoders. The encoder pulses of anencoder connected to theSIMOVERT MASTER-DRIVES unit can also beused. They are fed to theT400 via the backplane bus. A coarse pulse input foreach incremental encoderfor masking the zero pulse. No electrical isolation of theinputs/outputs. Serial interface 1with RS232 and RS485transmission format and viaswitches using a protocolwhich can be selected onthe board:– DUST1 service protocolwith 19.2 Kbit/s andRS232 transmissionformat– USS protocol, 2-wire,with selectable RS232 orRS485 transmissionformat, max. 38.4 Kbit/s;can be configured asslave for parameterizationwith the OP1S, DriveES Basic or DriveMonitor. Serial interface 2with RS485 transmissionformat and a protocolwhich can be selected byconfiguration of thecorresponding functionblock:Baud rates (Kbit/s):9.6/19.2/38.4/93.75/187.5– USS protocolcan be configured as aslave for parameterizationwith the OP1S,Drive ES Basic orDriveMonitor (2-wire or4-wire)– peer-to-peerfor rapid processcoupling, 4-wire.Fig. 6/81T400 technology boardNoteIf serial interface 2 is used(peer-to-peer, USS), absolute-valueencoder 2 cannotbe operated, as the sameterminals are used for bothapplications! Absolute-value encoder 1with SSI or EnDat protocol(RS485) for positioningapplications. Absolute-value encoder 2with SSI or EnDat protocol(RS485) for positioningapplications.NoteIf absolute-value encoder 2 isused, serial interface 2(peer-to-peer, USS) cannotbe operated, as the sameterminals are used for bothapplications! Numerous possibilities ofsynchronization:– synchronization of theT400 with MASTER-DRIVES units or secondT400 or vice versa. For a more detailed descriptionand ordering data, seeCatalog ST DA.6Siemens DA 65.10 · 2003/20046/79
