during the communist years) in a beautiful 1850 building
that was originally a brewery. With rooms facing St. Agnes
Convent or the rear courtyard, this is a perfectly located, quiet
hotel. Refurbished but retaining some charm, the rooms are
simple and comfortable with satellite TV, phone, minibar and

Hotel 16 actually has 13 clean rooms to offer just behind
the small Botanical Gardens, which is actually a far less
glamorous location than it sounds although it is a pleasant,

station and opposite the Staropramen brewery. Fear not,
double glazing keeps the noise out of the sunny, well appointed
rooms although you should take a rear courtyard
facing room if you are a light sleeper. Minibar, hair dryer
etc. are standard in their not-so-standard rooms – this is a
converted 1898 residential building so all rooms are unique;
the owner is an architect. Staff are friendly and multilingual.

with another Small Charming Hotel, this time in the New Town,
where three buildings have been merged and beautifully reconstructed
to incorporate classical elements with modern
lines. And it is very minimalist: no prints on the walls and
muted wood and beige interior. All rooms have twin beds, a
safe, minibar, desk, TV and free Wi-Fi. Pets are welcome and

and facilities in the ever-growing and trendier by the day
area around Anděl. Hard working staff keep smiling and
converse freely in a number of languages. The lobby bar is
busy, which is very uncommon in hotels. An excellent choice
for a comfortable stay across the river. Oh, and your pets are

INOS sits just back from the river below Prague’s second castle,
Vyšehrad. Rooms are comfortable but without many luxuries.
The suite proves to be the best value, breakfast is included and
the website’s driving directions make this a good spot if you
tend to get lost arriving in a foreign city. The cheaper price in
