With excellent publictransport, it is also easy to live and commute from the larger city of Malmö (only 10minutes by train to <strong>Lund</strong>) or even Helsingborg (30 minutes by train to <strong>Lund</strong>).LU Accommodation is a service at <strong>Lund</strong> <strong>University</strong> whichmanages some of the <strong>student</strong> housing available in <strong>Lund</strong>,Malmö and Helsingborg, including housing for <strong>student</strong>s witha housing guarantee. Student housing is of a high quality withcentral heating, triple glazed windows and bright interiorskeeping interiors warm, light and comfortable. The followingdescriptions relate to LU Accommodation housing for whichexchange, Bachelor’s and Master’s <strong>student</strong>s can apply.Corridor rooms: These rooms are along a corridor withother <strong>student</strong>s. Most corridors have 10 to 12 rooms. Therooms usually have an en suite toilet but share a commonkitchen area, living room space and in some cases bathrooms.All the shared areas are equipped for basic cooking. Internetconnection is offered in most corridor rooms.Studio flats: These are self-contained rooms that combine aliving room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette into one singleunit. The bathroom has a toilet, shower and wash basin. Noareas are shared with other <strong>student</strong>s except the laundry room.Furnishings: Rooms and flats are usually furnished with abed, mattress, desk, chair, bookshelf and basic lighting fixtures.Costs: If you rent accommodation from LU Accommodationyou can expect typical rents to range from SEK 3 200 – 4 800per month, depending on the specific accommodation you areoffered. You will also have to pay a deposit of SEK 2000 whenyou sign the contract.<strong>Lund</strong> - the city of bikesThe easiest way to get around<strong>Lund</strong> is by bike. <strong>Lund</strong> has160 kilometres of cycle pathsacross the city, so y<strong>our</strong> class isnever more than 20 minutesby bike from most accommodationoptions. Every day,people in <strong>Lund</strong> cycle as muchas 4 times around the worldtogether!
